Maghreb Secours Association: A Deep Commitment to Humanitarian Development in Morocco

In the heart of Morocco, the Maghreb Secours Association strives to reduce social inequalities and provide concrete assistance to the kingdom's most vulnerable populations. Since its founding nearly ten years ago by Faouzia Barache Bousquet, this organization has quickly established itself as a pillar of humanitarian aid. Through its multiple initiatives—ranging from emergency medical care to food donations, education, and the digging of authorized wells—the association has touched hearts and transformed lives, particularly in isolated rural areas and among marginalized populations, victims of life-threatening illnesses, and even people with disabilities who require prosthetics or orthotics.

One of the association's flagship projects is the mobile application Karam, which allows users to contribute to humanitarian actions by watching advertising capsules. This innovative crowdfunding model generates donations that directly support the association's missions, thus guaranteeing medical interventions and development projects for the most disadvantaged beneficiaries. This application still requires work, and we are striving to try to complete it in a short time.

Thanks to close partnerships with local institutions, Maghreb Secours manages to maximize the impact of its actions. The Moroccan authorities who are redoubling their efforts to help us and facilitate our task, the members, the goodwill of businesses, and partner medical clinics are uniting to strengthen the response capacities of the association in the event of a crisis or medical emergency, thus ensuring high-quality care accessible to all. Our relays in rural areas, our knowledge of the terrain allowed us to respond effectively during the earthquake in 2023. We braved the Covid pandemic to provide aid and relief to people who were affected by the twists and turns of this disease (travel to remote areas, food aid, visits to the poor to operate on cases of people in great danger, financial assistance for the purchase of medicines.

The association continues to grow, notably through social media awareness campaigns that mobilize local communities and Moroccans living abroad, but especially by reaching out to young students in Morocco. With more than 50,000 beneficiaries and active donors, Maghreb Secours demonstrates that every act of solidarity counts in building a more equitable future.
