Maghreb Secours: A Global Commitment to the Well-Being of Vulnerable Populations

Since its inception, Maghreb Secours has been recognized for its commitment to helping the most disadvantaged populations in Morocco. In 2024, the organization will expand its efforts to address vital needs in several key areas.

Among the new departments, life-saving medical operations are at the heart of our mission. Maghreb Secours supports urgent surgical interventions, particularly for children with serious illnesses, thus ensuring access to essential care for the most vulnerable. We also provide prosthetics and orthotics to people with disabilities, thus offering them a chance to regain mobility and independence. It is clear that the Moroccan government has implemented a policy of care for the socially excluded or people with low incomes by guaranteeing access to hospitals. The large influx in public health services does not always allow for rapid care. Patients turn to our association to deal with the most urgent matters.

Faced with the water crisis in rural areas, our association is actively involved in the digging of wells authorized to ensure sustainable access to drinking water in isolated douars. These initiatives help to slow rural exodus and maintain a stable agricultural life for local families.

Finally, Maghreb Secours plays a crucial role in guiding young people. Through awareness programs for students, we encourage them to pursue professional careers in Morocco, thus promoting the socio-economic development of the country. Through these actions, we aspire to build an inclusive, united and resilient Morocco.

The Maghreb Secours Association: A Beacon of Hope in the Moroccan Humanitarian Landscape

In the heart of Morocco, the Maghreb Secours Association strives to alleviate the suffering of the most disadvantaged and promote social development in the most isolated corners of the kingdom. Founded nearly ten years ago by the visionary Faouzia Barache Bousquet, this non-governmental organization has established itself as a key player in national solidarity.

The primary objective of the Maghreb Secours Association is to provide tangible support to marginalized and vulnerable populations. Whether through emergency interventions, long-term development programs, or even well digging, each initiative is designed to provide a better quality of life for beneficiaries. The mission is divided into several strategic areas: food aid, medical assistance, educational support, and community development programs.

Rapid crisis response

From the outset, the association understood the importance of a rapid response in crisis situations. The food baskets distributed in rural areas, often cut off from traditional aid channels, are a first step toward food security. But the association's commitment doesn't stop there. Faced with limited access to medical care in some regions, Maghreb Secours has also implemented emergency medical interventions, saving lives through procedures ranging from basic care to complex surgical operations.

Under the leadership of Faouzia Barache Bousquet, the association continues to seek innovative ways to finance and expand its operations. A recent example is the “KARAM” mobile application, which links humanitarian efforts to financial resources from advertising. This innovative funding model provides a source of regular revenue to support the association's missions, while also providing visibility to partner companies.

Our medical department at Maghreb Secours has been a true source of miracles and successes in our humanitarian mission. By rising to the challenge of meeting complex medical needs, we have already performed hundreds of lifesaving operations, particularly for the vulnerable population of children affected by serious pathologies, especially cardiac ones, as well as surgeries for the installation of prostheses, mainly for the lower limbs.

The results achieved have exceeded our most optimistic expectations. Thanks to our dedicated medical team and the unwavering commitment of Maghreb Secours, we have brought a glimmer of hope into the lives of many children by providing them with lifesaving medical interventions. New Frontier – Karam Application
